The GCC Ministerial Council (91st session, June 2004) agreed to conclude a Framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the GCC States and the Republic of Turkey in preparation for initiating FTA negotiations.
The Framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the GCC States and Turkey was signed in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 30 May 2005, then followed by the FTA negotiations. In this connection, so far four rounds of negotiations have been held between the two sides, in which topics related to this agreement were discussed.
