As part of the official visit made by His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to Hong Kong, upon the invitation of His Excellency Mr John Lee, CEO of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, HE the Secretary General met with Her Excellency Ms Gracie Foo, Permanent Secretary for Constitutional Affairs and the Mainland, His Excellency Mr Christopher Hui, Minister of Financial Services and Treasury, and His Excellency Mr Cheung Kwok-kwan, Deputy Minister of Justice, in Hong Kong on Thursday (April 25, 2024).
During the official meetings, several topics of common interest were discussed and reviewed, including ways to activate economic relations between the GCC and Hong Kong, and to strengthen and develop them in a way that serves common goals.
The prospects for investment relations between the Cooperation Council and Hong Kong were also discussed, and the two sides stressed the need to continue moving forward in strengthening relations and expanding new horizons for joint economic and trade cooperation between both sides, with the aim of achieving mutual benefits.
