At the invitation of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Technical Committee of the GCC Ports and Maritime Authorities held a meeting via visual communication on Tuesday, 12 May 2020. The meeting was to discuss the implications of the Corona pandemic on the GCC ports and maritime transportation sector and the procedures the Member States took to mitigate those effects.

They also discussed future steps to combat this pandemic and protect ships and their workers.  As well as to ensure the supply chains of essential goods continue to reach the GCC citizens and residents.
