His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the honouring of several individuals working in youth affairs and creative youth in the Council countries highlights the attention and appreciation the GCC nations give to youth in the Council member states and their significant contributions to Gulf societies. 

"This is in line with the esteemed directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the Council member states to support youth in our countries," His Excellency said. 

This statement was made during a ceremony honouring various individuals working in joint committees related to youth affairs, along with distinguished youth in the Council countries, held on the sidelines of the 38th meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Youth and Sports in the GCC, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Kuwait, chaired by His Excellency Mr Abdulrahman Badah Al Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs in the State Kuwait – President of the current session – with the attendance of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Youth and Sports in the Council.

His Excellency mentioned that the honorees from the youth affairs committees were awarded the Third Class Excellence Medal from the GCC for their efforts and contributions in supporting youth in the Council countries. Additionally, several creative and distinguished youth from the Council countries were also honoured and awarded the GCC Medal.

Explaining further, HE the Secretary General added: "The honouring ceremony is part of the many activities organised by the GCC countries on the sidelines of their ministerial meetings or other activities, all aimed at celebrating and expressing gratitude to everyone who has contributed to enhancing the blessed journey of the Council in all its fields. This recognition acknowledges the work they have done through the tasks and responsibilities they have undertaken in their countries, which focus on achieving the welfare of their peoples. Moreover, it serves as an encouragement to exert more efforts and contributions to the blessed journey of the Council."​
