His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), praised the prominent role played by the State of Qatar in facilitating the prisoner exchange between the United States and Afghanistan. Moreover, His Excellency noted that Qatar's successful mediation serves as a model for resolving international disputes through peaceful and constructive means, in accordance with international principles and treaties. He also explained that this initiative highlights the positive role of the GCC countries as reliable partners in achieving global peace and security, and strengthens the impact of Gulf diplomacy on regional and international levels.
Furthermore, His Excellency expressed his pride and appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the GCC states in resolving conflicts and bridging divides, as well as their continued support for countries regionally and internationally. He affirmed that these prominent roles undertaken by the GCC states are now appreciated and respected by all parties worldwide for their contribution to strengthening peace, stability, and understanding among peoples.
