General Secretariat – Davos

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and His Excellency Mr Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, discussed topics of cooperation between the two sides, foremost among them the second GCC-ASEAN Summit. They also covered several economic and cultural fields and the strengthening of communication between peoples, serving the mutual goals and interests.

This meeting took place on Tuesday (January 21, 2025) in the Swiss city of Davos, on the sidelines of the 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025.

During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed, most notably the review of Gulf-Vietnamese relations and ways to develop and enhance them to serve common interests. The free trade agreement between the two sides was also discussed, recognising the mutual benefits for their peoples, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.

At the conclusion of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam extended an official invitation to HE the Secretary General of the GCC to visit the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the upcoming period.
