His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Her Excellency Ms. Anne-Marie Descôtes, Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France, on Tuesday (June 11, 2024), in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on the sidelines of His Excellency’s participation in the proceedings of the Gaza Emergency Humanitarian Response Conference.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably the developments in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the regional and international efforts made to resolve this crisis, and ways to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and the bad humanitarian conditions they suffer from. 

HE Mr Albudaiwi also stressed the firm position of the GCC countries to resolve the Palestinian cause through diplomatic and peaceful means, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, and the need for the international community to carry out its tasks and responsibilities to resolve the crisis and put pressure on the Israeli occupation forces.

The latest developments on the regional and international arenas were also discussed during the meeting, and relations between the two sides were reviewed, including agreeing on the importance of accelerating the approval of the joint action plan between the two sides, which covers many topics and sectors that are in the interest of bilateral Gulf-French relations.​
