His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the GCC countries have overcome numerous obstacles over four decades and achieved many accomplishments and achievements that embody cooperation and integration among the Council's countries.
"This was achieved thanks to the wise guidance of the late founding leaders of the GCC countries and the current leaders based on their belief in the lofty goals of this blessed journey and for the good and prosperity of their peoples, and to protect their security and stability," His Excellency said.
This came during the media dialogue session for His Excellency the Secretary General, held as part of the activities of the GCC weeks, in the State of Kuwait, coinciding with the holding of the 45th Gulf Summit scheduled for December 1, 2024. This took place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Summit's media centre.
During the dialogue, His Excellency said that we, as Gulf citizens, have the right to recall with pride and appreciation the great and well-known achievements witnessed by the Cooperation Council in various fields and at all international, regional, and global levels.
"These achievements are a translation of the sound and wise directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries which drive the cooperation process to achieve the aspirations of our Gulf peoples, and to work on doubling achievements and gains, strengthening deep Gulf ties, and consolidating the unity of our shared destiny," His Excellency stated.
His Excellency explained to the media that thanks to these tireless efforts, the GCC countries have become a focal point for all states of the world, leading to numerous partnerships and the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding.
"These achievements in all fields, as well as the signing of many agreements are aimed at strengthening cooperation in all areas for the blessed journey of the Council and achieving a decent life for its citizens," His Excellency pointed out.
During the dialogue, His Excellency the Secretary General also responded to questions and inquiries from the media regarding Gulf achievements, the importance of holding the Gulf weeks, and a number of issues and challenges in the regional and international arenas.
