His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the GCC states are making great efforts to enhance joint Gulf action in the field of public prosecutions and attorneys general.

This came during His Excellency's speech at the sixteenth meeting of Their Excellencies the Attorneys General and Public Prosecutors of the GCC States, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the Qatari capital, Doha, chaired by His Excellency Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Attorney General of the State of Qatar - President of the current session - and in the presence of Their Excellencies the Attorneys General and Public Prosecutors of the GCC States.

At the beginning of his speech, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar and President of the current session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, for his continuous support for the process of joint Gulf action, wishing the government and people of the State of Qatar continued progress and prosperity under His Highness' wise leadership.

On the occasion, HE the Secretary General affirmed that these meetings, held within the framework of joint Gulf action, embody the wise visions of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, to exert more efforts towards Gulf convergence, cooperation, and integration, in achieving the lofty goals for which the Council was established.

His Excellency also pointed out, during his speech, the important role of the esteemed Committee of Their Excellencies the Attorneys General and Public Prosecutors of the GCC States, since its establishment in 2007, in achieving integration between the public prosecutions and attorneys general in the GCC States through the accomplishments it has made, such as the rules of joint cooperation and the Muscat Document for Child Protection, in addition to the document on the ethics of artificial intelligence in the work of public prosecutions issued in 2023.  His Excellency also praised the Committee's achievements that contributed to unifying systems and laws among the GCC states, enhancing cooperation to combat crimes and prosecute perpetrators, exchanging information and expertise, and coordinating positions on common issues.​​
