His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue. The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi's participation in the 20th IISS Manama Dialogue, held on Friday, December 6, 2024, in Manama, Bahrain.
The event, themed "Middle East Leadership in Shaping Regional Prosperity and Security," is organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in cooperation with the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting covered a number of issues related to bilateral relations, including the progress of negotiations on a GCC-China Free Trade Agreement. Discussions also focused on Middle East issues of mutual interest, coordination of viewpoints on current matters, and efforts to achieve political stability and support comprehensive peace processes in the region.
