His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the announcement of an immediate ceasefire between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, expressing hope that this agreement will contribute to enhancing security and stability in the South Asia region.
Moreover, His Excellency affirmed the Council's support for regional and international efforts aimed at calming tensions between the two countries, stressing the importance of resorting to dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts.
He also expressed his aspirations that this agreement would be a step towards a comprehensive resolution of the conflict between the two countries, ensuring lasting peace and security for their peoples.
