His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received His Excellency Mr Sergey Kozlov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday (April 15, 2025) at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably strengthening Gulf-Russian relations within the framework of the strategic dialogue established by the two parties in 2011, as well as a discussion on accelerating the pace of implementing the joint action plan (2023-2027) between the GCC member states and the Russian Federation, based on the results of the seventh joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the Council and Russia, attended by Their Excellencies the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the Council and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia in September 2024.
The participation of HE the Secretary General in the 13th International High-Level Security Conference, scheduled to take place at the end of May in Moscow, at the invitation of His Excellency Mr Sergei Shoigu, Secretary General of Security Council of Russia, was also discussed.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on a number of files and issues of mutual interest on both regional and international levels.
