His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Mr Brian Mast, Chairman of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in the American capital, Washington.

During the meeting, His Excellency indicated that a number of topics of mutual interest were discussed, primarily the Gulf-American relations and ways to enhance and develop them to contribute to increased consultation, coordination, and cooperation in all areas within the framework of the strategic partnership.

Moreover, His Excellency noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to explain to the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs the robustness of Gulf-American links and the high-level coordination between the two sides, including the ten working groups that connect the Gulf and American sides.

Furthermore, His Excellency pointed out that the latest developments in the regional and international arenas were discussed during the meeting, with a focus on the serious situation in Gaza. He emphasised the need to intensify international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and implement all relevant UN and international resolutions to protect the Palestinian people and ensure they receive all their legitimate rights.

Additionally, the joint GCC-American efforts on various regional and international files were reviewed, with a commitment to move forward in enhancing security and stability in the region and the world. Finally, His Excellency praised the various American efforts to bridge gaps on many global issues and the attempts to reach solutions regarding them.
