His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the lofty directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, have contributed significantly to supporting and enhancing the role of Gulf women in the blessed journey of joint Gulf action.
This came during His Excellency's attendance and sponsorship of the "Ramadan Ghabga" event to celebrate the female employees of the General Secretariat on the occasion of International Women's Day, which was held on the evening of Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
At the beginning of his speech, His Excellency the Secretary General expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, for their unlimited support for Gulf women, as their lofty directives support the role of Gulf women at all levels in the blessed journey of joint Gulf action.
His Excellency also said that "our celebration today carries a message of appreciation and pride for the female employees of the General Secretariat, who have played a fundamental and pivotal role in the journey of joint Gulf action. They have worked side by side with their brothers in this great edifice with full competence and ability, and have never hesitated to express their abilities and prove themselves, which has enabled them to occupy multiple positions and achieve distinguished accomplishments in many fields,"
His Excellency further added: "They lead the process of coordination, preparation, follow-up, and planning for GCC meetings at all levels with full professionalism. This confirms the main and effective role played by the female employees of the General Secretariat in supporting the blessed GCC journey,"
His Excellency added that Gulf women have been able to prove their exceptional abilities in various fields, which has strengthened their position as a key partner in achieving sustainable development and the future vision of the Council's countries, noting that their successive successes reflect the extent of the Gulf societies' belief in the importance of the role of women in the advancement of nations.
In conclusion, His Excellency expressed his pride in the honourable achievements of Gulf women, stressing that the Cooperation Council will continue its efforts to support their journey and bolster their presence in various fields, in line with the aspirations for development and progress in the Council's countries.
