His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and His Excellency Mr Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a virtual meeting on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 to discuss a number of issues, primarily focusing on strengthening bilateral relations.
During the virtual meeting, both sides stressed the importance of relations between the GCC countries and the Republic of Uzbekistan, expressing their commitment to further developing cooperation across all sectors, particularly in the economic, investment, and financial fields, for mutual benefit.
The upcoming summit between the leaders of the GCC countries and the leaders of Central Asian countries, scheduled to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, was also discussed.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the joint action plan between the GCC and Central Asian countries for the period 2023-2027.
This plan encompasses enhanced cooperation in several areas, including political and security dialogue, economic, trade, and investment cooperation, education, health, culture, media, youth, and sports.
Both sides expressed their hope to strengthen implementation of this plan for mutual benefit. Finally, they exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and political issues of mutual interest.
