His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that there are many links and relations that unite the GCC countries and the Republic of Indonesia, which contribute to coordinating efforts to enhance cooperation between the two sides in all areas of mutual interest and achieve common interests.

This came during His Excellency's meeting with His Excellency Mr Pahala Nugraha Mansury, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably the importance of exploring all areas of joint cooperation between the Cooperation Council and the Republic of Indonesia and ways to develop and enhance them, as well as reviewing cooperation within the framework of the joint action plan between the Cooperation Council and Indonesia for the period (2020-2024).

Moreover, His Excellency mentioned that the two sides stressed during the meeting the desire to enhance joint cooperation and develop relations, especially economic relations, and that the expected outcomes of the joint action plan will enhance cooperation between them, which is an important step for the strategic partnership between the two sides.

The latest developments in the political and security situation in the region, as well as issues of common interest, were also discussed, and views on them were exchanged.​
