His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by the occupation forces.

HE the Secretary General said that the continued storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by the occupation forces, violating its sanctities and attacking its worshippers, is a dangerous escalation, a violation of the Holy Mosque, an aggression against the first qibla of Muslims, and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims in the world, and it contradicts international principles and norms in respect of religious sanctities, as well as a flagrant violation of the international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

His Excellency affirmed that the continuous violations and assaults on sanctities, in conjunction with the continuous Israeli incursions into the occupied Palestinian territories, warn of further escalation and represent a dangerous approach for which Israel bears responsibility for all its serious consequences, which undermine all efforts made to prevent the escalation of violence that threatens security and peace in the region.

Furthermore, HE the Secretary General called on the international community to take urgent action to stop these systematic moves by the occupation authorities, and to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East as well as ensure that efforts are not undermined, and regional and global peace is established.

His Excellency reiterated the firm stances of the GCC states towards the Palestinian cause as the first cause of Arabs and Muslims, and its support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Al Quds as its capital.
