His Excellency Dr Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed the Council's support for all international efforts to enhance security, stability and peace in Yemen.
HE the Secretary General's remarks came during his reception to HE Ambassador Timothy Linderking, the US Special Envoy to Yemen, on Monday (September 12, 2022), at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
The officials reviewed the UN efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, represented by the truce announced by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, and the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to exert pressure on the Houthi group to seriously engage in the peace process to resolve the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the UN references. They also highlighted the importance of supporting the Leadership Council in the Republic of Yemen to achieve security, peace and stability in the country and support development efforts.
