His Excellency Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stressed the need to continue exerting efforts to reach a political solution to the conflict in Yemen, and to support the efforts of the Yemeni people towards crystallising a map for the future to restore Yemen's stability, development and prosperity, in order to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people.
This came during a meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Peter Semneby, Envoy of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Yemen, on Sunday (October 23, 2022) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the event, several topics were discussed, most notably the Houthi terrorist escalation after the end of the UN truce, which the Houthi militia refused to extend, and its blatant encroachment on civil and economic facilities, and global energy supplies and paths, as well as the necessity for the international community to bear the responsibility in front of these attacks, and the importance of pushing for a peaceful solution, ending the conflict in Yemen, and finding a strong ground for launching the political path among all Yemeni components to support a political solution in Yemen.
