His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), praised the initiative of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United States to organise a charitable event in Washington to support individuals with autism. He noted that this initiative serves as a bridge of cooperation between countries to support and care for this important group in our communities.
This came during his participation in the charitable event for supporting individuals with autism, hosted by the Embassy of the State of Qatar, on the sidelines of his official visit to the United States. The event was attended by several diplomatic and community figures as well as those interested in autism and humanitarian work, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in the American capital, Washington.
Commenting further, His Excellency mentioned that holding an event of this kind in the American capital reflects the commitment of the State of Qatar to promote global awareness about autism spectrum disorder and to enhance humanitarian values based on empathy and solidarity. He praised Qatar's significant efforts in this field and appreciated the valuable role played by the GCC countries in fostering awareness and support for this important group in society through quality initiatives and effective partnerships with specialised global institutions.
Moreover, His Excellency clarified that such initiatives, through their humanitarian diplomatic messages, contribute to highlighting humanitarian issues that require collective efforts to build more inclusive and equitable societies, reflecting the honourable image of the GCC states in supporting humanitarian causes across all fields worldwide.
