His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the media in the GCC countries plays a significant role in supporting and solidifying the accomplishments of joint Gulf efforts.
This was mentioned during His Excellency's speech at the Ramadan Ghabga for media professionals, which he hosted in honour of the media on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his residence in Riyadh.
At the beginning of his speech, he praised the role of the media in conveying Gulf messages aimed at promoting peace and stability, and highlighting the significant efforts made by the member states on both regional and international levels through their distinguished media coverage.
Moreover, His Excellency noted that the GCC countries have witnessed significant leaps in creativity and media development, keeping pace with the rapid changes in the world of media.
"This progress is attributed to the attention and support that our countries have given to the media sector, believing that media is no longer just a means of conveying news, but rather an influential force, a partner, and a fundamental pillar in the success of any project, especially the national vision projects of our countries, serving as a bridge of communication between leadership and the people," His Excellency explained.
During the event, His Excellency also listened to the perspectives, ideas, and initiatives of the media professionals aimed at enhancing and developing joint Gulf media work.
