His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), revealed that the Advisory Body to the esteemed Supreme Council has contributed over 59 studies since its establishment, addressing various topics that have directly contributed to the development of numerous joint Gulf systems and projects.


This was announced during the first meeting of the Advisory Body of the Supreme Council in its 28th session, held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the State of Kuwait, with the participation of their Excellencies the members of the Body. 

At the beginning of his speech, His Excellency expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, President of the 45th session of the Supreme Council for the valuable efforts and continuous support provided by the State of Kuwait to enhance the joint Gulf work in all fields, fulfilling the aspirations of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Council and the peoples of the GCC, towards further integration and prosperity. 

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the leadership of the State of Qatar during the previous session under the guidance of His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar and the wise government of the State of Qatar for their support and assistance to the work of the General Secretariat and joint Gulf efforts.

His Excellency further stressed the important role of the Advisory Body and the necessity of bolstering its work and supporting the implementation of studies approved by the Supreme Council. He highlighted the need to develop work mechanisms to achieve integration of roles between the Advisory Body, ministerial committees, and the General Secretariat. 

He noted that the General Secretariat is following up on the implementation of the studies approved by the Supreme Council into joint action plans that support the march of the GCC, meet the directives and aspirations of the Supreme Council, and respond to the ambitions of the citizens of the GCC.

"Notably, the task assigned by the Supreme Council at the Kuwait Summit held on December 1, 2024, to the esteemed Body to study several topics, including unifying Gulf efforts to confront natural disasters, establishing unified Gulf policies and legislation for the use of artificial intelligence, and addressing obstacles to the integration of services among the GCC states," His Excellency said. 

In this context, he reaffirmed the important role of the Body in providing studies and insights to assist in addressing these topics within the framework of the joint Gulf work system to achieve its objectives.

At the end of his speech, he extended his sincere gratitude to Dr Mohammed Saleh Al Sada for his significant efforts and outstanding contributions during his presidency of the 27th session of the Advisory Body, as well as to all the members of the Advisory Body for their commitment to following up on its affairs and advancing its tasks successfully and effectively. 

He expressed great confidence that the leadership of Mr Nasser Abdullah Al Roudan in the work of the 28th session of the Advisory Body would add value to enhancing its role. 

He also underscored the full support of the General Secretariat for the Body and the provision of the necessary requirements for its successful operation, enabling it to perform its duties as "we aspire and work as an integrated team, believing that this solid entity is our stronghold upon which we rely to protect our gains, ensure our security and stability, and enhance the development and prosperity of the GCC and their citizens, under the wise guidance and directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Council."​
