His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the Sports Investment Forum (SIF), to be ​hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represents an ideal platform to showcase the potential of the Council's member states and highlight the role of sports as a bridge for regional cooperation and economic development.  


He described it as a significant and qualitative step towards achieving the Council's visions for developing the sports sector and opening new avenues for investment in sports.

This statement was made during His Excellency the Secretary General's acceptance of the SIF emblem from His Excellency Mr  Ibrahim Al Bakri, CEO of the Forum, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Riyadh.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency praised the significant efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the sports sector, noting that the Kingdom's hosting of numerous major sporting events in the coming period underscores its leading role in this field.  

His Excellency also pointed out that the SIF, to b​​e held in Riyadh next April, is of significant importance in highlighting the investment opportunities offered by the sports sector and strengthening its contribution to supporting the national economy through sports activities. 

He stressed that the Council's member states are constantly striving to provide the appropriate environment for creating a sustainable partnership with sports investment, enhancing the position of the Council's member states as a global centre for sports investment.
