On the occasion of the passing of one year since the launch of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), called on the brotherly Yemeni people to unite and uphold the supreme interest of Yemen, so that it may enjoy peace, security and stability, stressing that the current conditions are conducive to engaging in peace talks to reach a political solution,  in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), and the Security Council resolution 2216.

HE the Secretary General commended the conclusions reached by the brothers during those consultations hosted by the Cooperation Council from March 29, 2022, to April 7, 2022, during which Yemeni leaders, members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council, and representatives of political forces and civil society participated, and they reached important mechanisms to strengthen unity and build channels of communication, consultation and reconciliation, and to support the economic decision to lift the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people and resume the process of development and construction.

Moreover, His Excellency pointed out that the Cooperation Council is certain that the Yemeni people, with the wisdom and faith known to them, will achieve those lofty and noble goals that the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations were held to achieve.
