  HE GCCSG and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain Discuss Enhancing Strategic Relations Bonding the Cooperation Council with Spain and EU in Various Fields to Achieve Common Goals

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and His Excellency Mr Jose Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain, discussed the importance of the strategic relations bonding the GCC states with Spain and the European Union (EU) in various fields, in order to achieve common goals.

This came during a meeting between His Excellency and the Spanish Foreign Minister on Tuesday (February 6, 2024) in the Qatari capital Doha, on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the International Conference on Food Justice themed “From A Human Right Perspective - Challenges of Reality and Future Stakes”. 

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including reviewing the relations between the GCC and Spain, as well as the means to develop and elevate them, serving common objectives. The latest developments in regional and international situations and issues were also discussed, with an exchange of views on these matters.

His Excellency added that the upcoming GCC-EU commitments and joint meetings in 2024 were also discussed, expressing that 2024 will witness a prominent shift in the bilateral relations between the two sides, which will witness development on all levels.
