Page ContentHis Excellency Mr Mohammed Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and His Excellency Mr Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), signed the headquarters agreement for the Gulf Academy for Strategic and Security Studies, on Wednesday (September 27, 2023( at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Abu Dhabi.On this occasion, HE the Secretary General extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his esteemed support and the great attention the UAE provides to the offices and centres affiliated with the General Secretariat of the GCC, adding that this support has enabled them to fulfil their duties and responsibilities effectively. Furthermore, His Excellency commended the UAE for graciously hosting the headquarters of the Gulf Academy for Strategic and Security Studies and providing all necessary facilitation for its establishment.Moreover, His Excellency the Secretary General stated that the signing of the agreement for the headquarters of the Academy, which took place today, stems from the decision of the Supreme Council of the GCC during its 34th session in Kuwait in 2013, approving the establishment of the Academy and welcoming the decision to have its headquarters constructed in the UAE. HE the Secretary General also stated that the Academy is considered a prominent educational monument and a key achievement for the joint GCC military action, adding that the establishment of the Academy confirms the interest of the GCC countries in keeping pace with the rapid development in science, military and security studies, and their keenness to qualify and enhance the competence of their commanders.His Excellency concluded by wishing the leadership of the Gulf Academy and its employees continued success and prosperity in achieving the desired goals from its establishment.
