Page ContentHis Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), said that the General Secretariat of the GCC always seeks to strengthen channels of communication with countries and international organisations, and to discuss ways of stability and security in the region.This came during His Excellency’s meeting with His Excellency Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), today, Tuesday, September 19, 2023, on the sidelines of His Excellency Mr. Albudaiwi's participation in the meetings of the 78th UN General Assembly in New York, the United States of America.His Excellency the Secretary General stated that during the meeting, discussions were held on ways to enhance the prospects of cooperation and dialogue between the General Secretariat of the GCC and the NATO. The focus was on joint work, coordination, and contributing to the consolidation of stability, security, and peace in the region, added His Excellency. They also explored opportunities for exchanging expertise in areas of mutual interest. Additionally, the discussions covered various issues related to political dialogue, counter-terrorism, regional security, defence, maritime security, energy security, and cyber security.
