  HE the GCCSG: We Look Forward to the EU's efforts in Resolving the Crisis in the Gaza Strip, Hoping it will Play Greater Role in Exerting Pressure on the Israeli Occupation Forces to Stop the Aggression on Gaza

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his hope that the European Union's (EU) efforts and role will contribute to resolving the crisis in the Gaza Strip, adding that he was looking forward to the EU playing a greater role in exerting pressure on the Israeli occupation forces to stop the aggression on Gaza. 

He pointed out that the crisis in Gaza and its repercussions now threaten regional and global security, necessitating the intervention of all countries and organisations to stop this crisis.

This came during his meeting with His Excellency Mr Luigi Di Maio, Special Representative of the EU for the Gulf region, in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on Saturday, November 18, 2023, on the sidelines of his participation in the 19th edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue Conference.

HE the Secretary General stated that communications between the GCC and the EU is ongoing at all levels to exchange viewpoints on various topics, including political, security, and economic issues, in order to achieve common goals, adding that the GCC countries have become one of the prominent regional and international partners of the EU.
