  The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council receives the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

HE Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council received on Monday, 9 March 2020, HE Ambassador Chen Weiqing, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Secretary General stressed that the People's Republic of China is a priority to the GCC to cooperate with, pointing to the interest and keenness of the Gulf Cooperation Council to resume negotiations and reach a free trade agreement between the two sides.
The Secretary General praised the efforts made by the People's Republic of China to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19), and stressed the importance of cooperation between countries to combat it.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador expressed his pride in the ongoing cooperation between the GCC and China, and expressed his appreciation for the priorities given by the GCC to free trade negotiations between the two sides, looking forward to furthering the cooperation in the coming years, and also affirmed China’s keenness to enhance the joint cooperation between the two sides, serving their common interests.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations and the General Secretariat China Affairs officials.
