  The GCC Undersecretaries of Commerce hold an Extraordinary Meeting via "Visual Communication" to discuss the Economic Effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic

Their Excellencies, the GCC Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Commerce held on Thursday, 26 March 2020, a videoconference to discuss the economic effects of the emerging Coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19). This is in light of the GCC States Ministries of Commerce role in ensuring the availability of basic and necessary commodities for the GCC citizens and residents, standing with the private sector to enable it to play its role in the economy under the current exceptional circumstances, and evaluating the developments and precautionary measures undertaken by the GCC States to confront this pandemic.
The meeting was chaired by HE Eng. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy in the United Arab Emirates (the country of the presidency), during which their Excellencies the GCC Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Commerce reviewed the measures taken to ensure the flow of basic goods and services to the GCC citizens and residents on a regular basis, and take note of the precautionary measures and efforts the member states took to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, as well as the urgent initiatives undertaken by the GCC states to support the private sector, especially small and medium enterprises, and the economic activities affected by this pandemic.
The GCC Undersecretaries presented the recommendations reached during this meeting to their Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Commerce for approval at their exceptional meeting scheduled to be held the coming period.
