His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the content of the joint statement issued by His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mr Abdel Fattah El-Sisi,  the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency Mr Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America, to stop the crisis in Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people.

His Excellency praised the efforts made to resume negotiations between all parties, which are being carried out by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America in order to reach an agreement and de-escalate the situation in the region.

Moreover, His Excellency stressed that the GCC countries support all efforts aimed at stopping the crisis and saving the Palestinian people, believing that the convergence of efforts and unification of positions is the best way to stop the crisis, which will positively reflect on regional and international peace and stability.

At the same time, he stressed the support of the Council's countries for the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and all relevant international resolutions.​
