A delegation from
the GCCPOL, led by Maj. Thamer Mohammed Al-Harkan, visited on Tuesday, 8
January 2019, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL)
Headquarters in Lyon, France.
They were resaved
by, Lt. Col. Abdulaziz Obeidallah, Director of INTERPOL's Middle East and North
Africa Office. They met specialists in combating terrorism, organized crime and
maritime security. They also visited the operations room and reviewed the INTERPOL
recent programs and projects; as well as discussing means of cooperation
between the GCCPOL and the INTERPOL, in lined with the existing agreement
between the two sides to reach the desired goals.
For his part, Maj.
Al-Harkan conveyed the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr.
Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, and Col. Mubarak Said Al Khyeli, Director General of the
GCCPOL greetings, praising the efforts made to enhance Communication between international
police services for a safer world; and presented a memorial plaque to HE Mr. Patrick
Stevens, the INTERPOL's Counter Terrorism Director.
